"A FINE LINE...a woman's place is in the kitchen" Award-Winning Documentary Film Scree

We are proud to present "A Fine Line...a women's place is in the kitchen", a critically acclaimed documentary written, directed and edited by New York Dame Joanna James, on Sunday, October 6th at Hotel Irvine. Open to the public, this is our last fundraising event of the year with net proceeds benefitting the Phyllis Ann Marshall Culinary Scholarship fund.

“A Fine Line…” explores why less than 7% of lead chefs and restaurateurs are women and presents perspectives and experiences from world-renowned chefs including Three-Michelin Star San Francisco Chef Dominique Crenn; Emmy award-winning chef and TV host/restaurateur Lidia Bastianich; Two-Michelin Star Chef April Bloomfield; California-based first female Iron Chef Cat Cora; and many others. The film is also the poignant story of small-town restaurateur Valerie James – an uplifting American success story about perseverance, family and food.

The afternoon begins at 2 p.m. with a pre-screening reception offering cheese, charcuterie, wine and champagne, followed by the 80-minute film screening in Hotel Irvine’s plush theater. Admission is $65 and includes reception bites, two drink tickets and movie screening. Self-parking is an additional $5 with validation. This event is open to the public so ask your family and friends to join you as we raise money for our scholarship award this year!!
